Wedding Sneak Peak: Florals

I wanted to show you guys some other florals out there that aren't roses!

Ranunculus (above), also known as "Persian Buttercup", I think is a nice alternative to the Peony. The bloom isn't as big, but the petals are buttery-soft, dense and full-skirted. They come in other great mixed shades–orange, hot pink, soft pinks, white, cream and bi-colors (green center). And the price isn't as costly compared to the Peony. [Availability: traditionally winter & spring, some sellers offer them year-round]

Craspedia (above), also known as "Billy Balls" and "Woollyheads", is truly unique and memorable with its fun, round shape. Usually florists will use this flower as a supplemental filler for wedding flowers and bouquets. However, they look even better alone with their long skinny stems and tall, round heads. Not badly priced either when they are available. [Availability: summer & fall]

I can't wait to use these florals and and incorporate them into my wedding! You will have to wait 6 months to see the final product of course.

I will eventually be posting online wholesale flower superstores that I am thinking of using for my floral purchases for the day of our wedding.

Mimosa - 2009 Color of the Year

Guess what? – my main wedding color just happens to be the selected color of the year. Pantone® (the global authority on color & provider of professional color standards for the design industries) has selected the color Mimosa for 2009 – a year of change. "In a time of economic uncertainty and political change... no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow. "

Personally, what attracted me to the color yellow is its reflection of the sun and whenever I look at it or wear it, it makes me feel good. Like Leatrice Eiseman (Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®) explains, "yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance." I say "Wallpaper Everything!"

My fiance, Hemal, thinks I am crazy for liking wallpaper. Of course when he thinks of wallpaper, it reminds him of being ugly, dated and full of tacky patterns that you usually see at grandma's house. Simply, he is clueless to what is out there so I am going to clue him in by posting about it.

Wallpaper design has gone through a revolution. It is bigger, better and more modern than ever. It can add a beautiful, elegant touch to your home...

or it can make a grand statement. It's fashion on the wall. Can't forget that yellow; it's my obsession.

Graham & Brown feature an array of designer collections that will suit any room. All I can say is that I love them all and would add it to every room in my house if I could. Check them out! – Graham & Brown Wallpaper for your home.

INSIGHT & IDEAS: These graphic patterns can also inspire your wedding invite and influence your wedding reception decor.

Sunny Ideas For Your Home

Besides yellow being the main focal color in my wedding, I think it can be a fun, inviting color for your home too. It's so easy to incorporate whether through a small accent piece such as a throw pillow, or to even reupholster an old chair with a funky design.

Don't be surprised if you see some of these visual elements in my home in the near future.

For The Love of Yellow

I am crazed about the color yellow lately and would just love to buy all these items shown. But I am being good and buying selective things. Yellow was in season last year, and it looks like it is still sticking around for year 2009 in varying shades.
